About Us
We are from Group 1, Class 2009; Sub-group THREE! Our group consists of 6 members; Waiwai, Nabilah, Lin Aung, Juvena, Jiang juan and Eileen. We are like Winnie the Pooh and friends - have our own unique characters. This is our Statistics project.
Enjoy
browsing and
analyzing! :)
Introduction
Hey there! Welcome to our Statistics group blog. :) We are from a group of 6 curious nursing students, going to unfold the question of "
Is the length of upper arm equivalent to the length of fore arm?" at the end of this project.
Our reflections
Wai wai said, "Hello, I'm Wai Wai Hnin and I’m a leader of this subgroup. We took this particular module called Statistics as part academic curriculum. By doing this, we have understood about how we can apply in our professional. It introduces us to the basic concepts and principle related with statistical analysis. We have gained knowledge about skills to analyze and interpret findings. Our lecturer, Ms Chia had covered on classifying variables by using level of measurement, SPSS for windows, Analyzing frequency Distributions, Descriptive statistics, Normal curve and probability, Hypothesis testing, Choosing a statistical test, Measure of association and comparing Mean. I hope that I can apply it and it will help me if I go to further study. Finally, I would like to thank to Ms Chia and I really appreciate her knowledge on statistic. Thanks."
Jiang Juan said, "This is the first time we touch statistic, at first, I was quite confused, as the more I learn from the lesson I found it is actually very interesting, especially when I analysis the data, the graph come out like a magic! Collection data is one part of our project, it is a new experience I have not done before. Also getting sampling from our friends is fun. Overall, I hope this is useful for our final year project!"
Nabilah said, "I felt that our blog is fantastic. We put in our creativity and we had pool of information of research and the result of the data that we had collected. Our blog is not only easily assessable but we make it simplify for our reader to understand. We had elaborate on our findings in the blogs too. I felt satisfied with our blog and our findings through Statistics."
Juvena said, "Hello people!! When I first came to know that I need to statistic, I was like
“WHAT!!??” is not related to nursing at all. And I seem not really interested at first, however I still listen in class as the lecturer teaching method is quite interesting. She makes me feel that there is a need to do this module at the very first lecture. When time goes by, I start to like statistic. This subject really make me learn a lot of different curve and how to analysis the data. I believe this module will also come to use in our final year project.=D"
Lin Aung said, "I just want to share some learning experiences in HS2135. At first, I thought statistic is not related to nursing at all. I have no idea to link this module to nursing. However, I was gradually interested in this module after exposing a few lectures. I didn’t take it as a threat but a challenge. It was quite fun as calculation is part of the module. Now, I have already realised how important the statistic is for nursing. Nowadays, statistic is really useful in organizing health related information in systematic manner. It just takes a few seconds only to get the information on current health problem in Singapore context as well as global level. Doing research on health related problem has become the essential component in modern nursing science."
Eileen said, "It's my first time learning Statistics and it's a great experience for me as I can now prove many kinds of hypothesis with the help of this skill! After weeks of Statistics, I learned how to view numbers differently now."
